Communication through words may be in written or oral. Written communication entails transmission of messages in full reality. It is the way to transmit messages in writing for the proper implementation of organizational functions. It may be texture mainly in pictures, drafts, graphs, reports, policies, rules, orders, instructions, or agreements etc. 

Written communication guarantees that same message is being forwarded to everyone concerned, or all concerned should have same information. It provides a long-standing communication record for future. Written instructions are essential to the Important and complex actions. Communication is a process that involves exchanging information, ideas, thinking and feelings. In this process, informations are encode by the sender and transmitted it to the recipient through an appropriate channel. Recipient decodes the informations and responds to the sender on it.

Concept and meaning of "Communication process" 

Communication is defined as a process. Process is a concept that nature is dynamic as well as ever changing. Implies that such phenomena and the relationship are seen as dynamic, flexible, sustainable, and appear as similar, and should be considered as a whole, a dynamic interaction with each other and both are affected by many variables. Thus, the process has at least four elements- Acts or actions, constant time changes, growth or overtime progress, and the goal or outcome. Therefore, the process implies that the time dimension as well as the dimensions of space, in which the action unfolds in a continuously variable progress towards some goal.

Communication is to the business organisation what electrical Current is to a wiring system. Communication is the activating force. The wires in an electrical system are in and of themselves inert objects, their chief function being to carry the current, which in turns operates the electrical appliance at the receiving end of the system. Barriers and Breakdowns in communication: 

It is probably no surprise that managers frequently cite communication breakdowns as one of there most important problems. However, communication problems are often symptoms of more deeply rooted problems. For example, poor planning may be the cause of uncertainty about the direction of the firm. Similarly, poorly designed organisation structure may not clearly communicate organisational relationship. Vague performance standards may leave managers uncertain about what is accepted of them. Thus, the perceptive manager will look for the causes of communication problems, instead of look for the cause of communication problems. Barriers can exist in the sender, in the transmission of the massage, in the receiver, or in the feedback. Specific communication barriers are discussed below-
