Just-In-Time (JIT) Concept

What is Just-In-Time concept? Since the emergence of this term it was difficult for science and business people to define it. Even today many companies think that they are using JIT concept, but actually, they are not realising that. JIT must be integrated in company philosophy and no just dead letters.
JIT is define as “a philosophy of manufacturing based on planned elimination of a;; waste and on continuous improvement of productivity”. It also has been described as an approach with the objective of producing the right part in the right place, at the right time (in order word “Just-In-Time”). Basic of the concept is that the company produce only what is needed, when it needed, and in the quantity it needed. The company produce only what the costumer requests, to actual orders, not to forecasts. JIT also can define as producing the necessary units, with the required quantity & quality, at the last the safe moments. It means that company can manage with their own sources and allocate them very easily. Figure shows a drawing of the JIT concept.
